Obit: ELIAS D. STARR, son of GEORGE W. and SARAH R. (HOLLIDAY) STARR, was born January 15, 1862, in Corydon, Iowa, and passed away at his home near Kahoka, Mo, at 9 PM, Sunday, September 18, 1938, aged 76 years, 8 months and 3 days. Early in life he came with his parents to Missouri, where with the exception of three years spent in Montana, he has resided ever since. He was married to MINNIE B. WALKER on June 12, 1886. To this union four children were born, all of whom with the widow survive: ARCHIE STARR, Mrs. HENRY BREWSTER, Kahoka, Mo; FRANK STARR, Keokuk, IA: and Mrs. IRVIN LANG, Ft. Madison, IA. He is also survived by one brother, JOHN C. STARR, Keokuk, IA; six grandchildren, STUART, KENNETH and RAYMOND STARR, Kahoka, MO; EUGENE STARR, LaBelle, MO; EDWARD LANG, Ft. Madison, IA. and BETTY FRANCES STARR, Keokuk, IA; one great-grandchild, CLAYTON EUGENE STARR, Labelle, MO., and a large number of nephews and nieces and a host of other relatives and friends. His father, mother, and one brother preceded him in death. He was converted and joined the M. E. church at Oak Grove in 1901 during a revival meeting conducted by Rev. C. H,. BROTT and Rev WM. HARDMAN, and remained a faithful member until his death. He was a kind, loving husband and father, a good neighbor and friend, and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Funeral services were held at the M.E. church, Kahoka, at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 20, 1938, conducted by Rev. W. C. FRANCISCO, of Spickard, MO, his former pastor, assisted by Rev. PAUL C. PASCHAL, of Kahoka, and Rev. J. V. HAWK of Granger, MO. Interment in Kahoka cemetery. Pallbearers were five grandsons, STUART, EUGENE, KENNETH and RAYMOND STARR, EDWARD LANG and one nephew, FRED WALKER.
