Generation One

1. Jacob Starr:1 born circa 1900 in North Carolina; married Catharine (--?--). Jacob Starr purchased 80 acres in Jennings County, Indiana on 3 Jan. 1835, and appears in Jennings Co. in the 1840
census. On 17 Jan. 1844, Jacob Starr and Catharing his wife sold the same property. On 27 Jul 1844, Jacob Starr
purchased 80 acres in Clark Co. Missouri. There is no furtherrecord of Jacob. His wife appears as an apparent widow in
the 1850 census. While no probate records for him were found in Clark Co. records, there are later deeds recorded in Clark
Co. by his descendants selling their interest in the property purched by Jacob Starr in 1844.1

Catharine (--?--) was born circa 1801 in North Caroline.2 Known children of Jacob Starr and Catharine (--?--) were as follows: 2. i. Louisa Starr, born circa 1824 in North Carolina; married Jonathan Cantwell. ii. Mary Cornelia Starr; born 1826 in North Caroline;3 died 16 Jan. 1893; buried in Lewis Cemetery, Jefferson Twp., Clark Co., Missouri.4 She sold for herself and as attorney in fact for John C. Starr their undivided two-fifths of the property purchased by Jacob Starr in 1844 "as two of the five children and heirs at law of Jacob Starr, deceased" on 17 Dec 1885.5 iii. John C. Starr; born Dec 1828 in North Carolina.6 He granted a power of attorney while residing in Amardore Co., California, to his siter Cornelis Starr of Clark Co., Missouri, to sell his interest in Jacob Starr's tract on 12 Sep 1885. He appeared on the census of 1900 in Jenny Lind Twp., Calaveras [Co., California].7 3. iv. George W. Starr; born circa 1834 in Indiana; married Sarah Rebecca Holliday. v. Artimisha Starr; born circa 1841 Indiana.8 She probabley died after 1860 but before her father's property was sold off. vi. William H. Starr; born circa 1843 in Indiana.9 He as his wife Adoria of Schuyler Co. Illinois, sold their interest in Jacob Starr's tract on 17 Mar 1876.10
