Thornton Jackson Jr was born about 1791-1792 and died 25 Oct 1832. He was of English descent. His death was due to cholera contracted while flat-boating down the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers to New Orleans. A cholera epidemic was occurring in New Orleans and he insisted on going ashore despite the fact. He returned home having contracted the disease and gave it to his wife Sofie. Both of them died from cholera. Sofie Short was born about 1790. She was of English and German descent. She died of cholera on 23 Jul 1833 nine months after her husbands death.

Jane Jackson was previously married to Jacob Carr. Jacob Carr died on 25 Sep 1850.
